Who Shall Lay Charge to God's Elect Romans 8:33

Paul the apostle asked the people in Rome,He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”, and in chapter eight and verse thirty-three of Romans, Paul asked his readers, “who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect?” where we read:

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies.

The verse begins, Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect?Paul began with the words, “who” which means “what person” “shall lay any thing” which means “shall come forward as an accuser and bring charge against” “to the charge” or “down from, through out, according to and toward” “of God's” which refers to “pertaining to the Godhead and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit's” “elect” or “chosen, picked out and appointed by God to the most exalted office conceivable”. Paul asked his readers “what person” is able to “bring any charge or accusation” against those whom God has “elected and chosen”.

The verse continues, It is God that justifies.Paul added the words, “It is God or “the Godhead and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit is the one” “that justifies” which means “who renders righteous and just or such as a person ought to be”. Paul shared how God Himself is the One who “renders” people “righteous and just”.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how God involves Himself in making people “righteous and just” before Him, and therefore, who could ever “accuse and charge” them? God, through belief in His Son Jesus, makes a person “just as if they'd never sinned”, and because of this, there is nothing with which they may be “charged”. God desires to “wash” away “sins” and to make people anew. John the apostle said it this way, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”. (1 John 1:9) Now all that is necessary for “salvation” and “justification” is to “believe in, rely upon, trust in and cling to” Jesus Christ as a personal “Savior and Lord”. May all who read these words receive Jesus and put away everyone else who dares to “accuse”.

Next time Paul asks his readers, “who is he that condemns?”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
