Glorify God with One Mind and Mouth Romans 15:6

Paul the apostle prayed for the believers in Rome, “the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded one toward another according to Christ Jesus”, and in chapter fifteen and verse six of Romans, Paul told the believers they should be “like-minded” so they, “with one mind and one mouth glorify God” where we read:

That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The verse begins, “That you may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, ...” Paul began with the words, “that you may with one mind” which means “so the believers in Rome might in one accord and one passion” “and one mouth” or “and with one voice” “glorify” which means “praise, honor, extol, magnify and celebrate” “God” which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. Paul desired that the believers in Rome be “like-minded” so they would be in “one accord” and as “one voice” giving “honor and praise” to God.

The verse continues, “... even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.Paul added the word, “even” which means “also and indeed” “the Father” or “the upholder, preserver, guardian and protector” “of our Lord” which means “Paul, his companions and his believing readers' one to whom a person or thing belongs and about which he has power of deciding; master and the title given to God the Messiah” “Jesus” whose name means “Jehovah is Salvation” and is “the Son of God, the Savior of mankind and God incarnate” “Christ” which refers to “the anointed One, the Messiah and the Son of God”. Paul shared how “God” is to be “glorified” with “one mind and mouth” as Creator and Almighty God and “Jesus'” Heavenly Father.

When we think through these words of Paul, we see the purpose for believers in Jesus to be “like-minded”. They unify to give “God” the “glory and honor” He deserves. God the Heavenly Father sent His Son Jesus Christ into the world to save people from their sins, and as a unified body of people they are with “one mind and voice” to give “glory” to Him. May all who believer in Jesus Christ as their personal “Savior and Lord” be as “one mind and one voice” to give “glory and honor” to God.

Next time Paul tells the believers in Rome, “receive one another, as Christ also received us”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
