Rejoice You Gentiles Romans 15:10

Paul the apostle told the believers in Rome, “I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers”, and he added, “and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to you among the Gentiles, and sing unto your name.” In chapter fifteen and verse ten of Romans, Paul shared how the scriptures says, “Rejoice, you Gentiles” where we read:

And again he says, Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.

The verse begins, “And again he says, Rejoice, you Gentiles, ...” Paul began with the words, “and again” which means “and anew, further and moreover” “he says” or “God utters, proclaims and declares”, “rejoice” which means “be gladdened, joyful, merry and delighted”, “you Gentiles” which refers to “the companies, troops and multitudes of individuals who are from nations and people groups who are not Jews”. Paul repeated where the scriptures includes the “nations and people groups who are not Jews” to the “merriment and delight” of God.

The verse goes on to say, “... with his people. Paul continued with the word, “with” which means “alongside and after” “his people” which refers to “God's tribes, nations and all those who are of the same stock and language or the people of Israel”. Paul shared how God desired for the “Gentiles” to “rejoice” in the same manner as the “Jews”.

When we consider these words of Paul, we see how all people, regardless of their national heritage, are to be included in God's gospel of salvation. Jesus Christ came to “seek and to save that which was lost”, and whether they are “Jews or Gentiles”, God wants everyone to receive Him as “Savior and Lord”. When the Jews receive Him, they are to “rejoice” in God, and when the “Gentiles” receive Him, they are to join in the “praise and honor” of God as well.

Next time Paul refers to another scripture as he writes, “praise the Lord, all you Gentiles”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
