Why Do You Judge Your Brother? Romans 14:10

Paul the apostle told the believers in Rome, “none of us lives to himself, and no man dies to himself” and he added, “whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord:
whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's” . He continued, “For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.” In chapter fourteen and verse ten of Romans, Paul asked the believers in Rome, “why do you judge your brother?” where we read:

But why do you judge your brother? or why do you set at nought your brother?
for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

The verse begins, But why do you judge your brother? or why do you set at nought your brother?” Paul began with the word, “but” which means “moreover and” “why” or “for what reason and cause” “do you judge” which means “do Paul's believing readers separate, put asunder, select, choose, pronounce opinion, rule and judgment upon” “your brother” which refers to “the believers' fellow believers who are united to others by the bond of affection”. “Or why” which means “for what reason and cause” “do you set at naught” or “to the believers in Rome make of no account and despise utterly” “your brother” which refers to “the believers' fellow believers who are united to others by the bond of affection”. Paul questioned for what reason or cause they believers in Rome “put asunder” and “despise utterly” their “fellow believers”.

The verse goes on to say, for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.” Paul added the word, “for” which means “even as, indeed, no doubt, seeing then, verily and therefore” “we shall all stand” or “Paul, his companions and every person each, every, the whole and everyone will be presented, proffer and be brought near for proving” “before” which means “in front of, near and adjacent to” “the judgment seat” which refers to “the raised place mounted by steps, the platform, tribune and official judicial throne” “of Christ” or “pertaining to the anointed One, the Messiah and the Son of God”. Paul declared that every person will certainly “be presented and brought near” to Jesus Christ's “seat of judgment”.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how no one is exempt to “stand” before the “judgment seat” of Jesus. There is no justifiable reason to “judge” other believers in Jesus because He is their ultimate “judge”. Every believer in Jesus shall be “presented” before God's throne, and they all shall give an account of what they have done on the earth. Jesus Christ came into the world to “save” everyone who “believes” and “trusts” in Him, and from that point on, the works and efforts they put forth within His kingdom shall be “judged”. No other person is to take God's place, and there should never be “despising or putting asunder” another believer.

Next time Paul tells the believers in Rome, “every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess to God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
