Praise the Lord Gentiles and All You People Romans 15:11

Paul the apostle instructed the believers in Rome, “I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers”, and he added, “and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to you among the Gentiles, and sing unto your name. And again he says, Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.” In chapter fifteen and verse eleven of Romans, Paul shared another scripture where it says, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles” where we read:

And again, Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; and laud him, all you people.

The verse begins, “And again, Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;” Paul began with the words, “and again” which means “and anew, further and moreover” “praise” or “extol, sing honor, vow to and recommend” “the Lord” which refers to “he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master and the title given to God the Messiah”, “all you Gentiles” which means “to each, every, the whole and everyone of the companies, troops and multitudes of individuals who are from nations and people groups who are not Jews”. Paul referred to another scripture that exhorts “all the Gentiles” to “extol and honor” “the Lord”.

The verse goes on to say, “and laud him, all you people.. Paul continued with the word, “and laud him” which means “applaud, commend and praise the Lord”, “all” which refers to “each, every, the whole and everyone of” “you people” which means “tribes, nations and all those who are of the same stock and language”. Paul added the portion of the verse that says for “all people” to “applaud and commend” “the Lord”.

When we think through these words of Paul, we see . Psalms one hundred seventeen and verse one says, O praise the LORD, all you nations: praise him, all you people”, and Paul desired for everyone to be in a position to give “honor and praise” to the Lord. Jesus Christ came to provide access to a relationship with God by dying on the cross for the sins of the whole world. Now everyone who will put their “faith and trust” in Him shall receive Him as their “Savior and Lord” and are promised “everlasting life”. This causes these believers to “praise and laud” Him for His marvelous works, and those who accept Jesus shall join in the chorus of “praise”!

Next time Paul tells the believers in Rome about how the prophet Isaiah wrote, “there shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
