Paul Much Hindered from Coming Romans 15:22

Paul the apostle told the believers in Rome, so have I striven to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation”, and he added, “But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.” In chapter fifteen and verse twenty-two of Romans, Paul shared how he was, “hindered from come to” the believers in Rome where we read:
For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you.

The verse begins, For which cause also I have been much hindered ... Paul began with the word, “for which cause” which means “whereof and on account of” “also” or “even and indeed” “I have been much hindered” which means “Paul was cut into and impeded”. Because Paul shared the gospel of Jesus Christ with other Gentiles who never heard of Jesus, and this “impeded” him in his travels.

The verse goes on to say, “... from coming to you.. Paul added the words, “from” which means “” “coming to you” or “from arriving, appearing, showing himself toward the believers in Rome”. Paul was “cut off and impeded” from “appearing” before the believers in Rome because of his desire to share Jesus with people who never heard the “gospel of Jesus Christ”.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we can sense his desire to have visited with the believers in Rome. Because he was busy about sharing the “gospel of Jesus Christ” with others, he was “impeded” from “coming to” the believers in Rome. God Almighty desires to reach every person with the “good news” of His Son Jesus, and He uses people to share this with other. Oh that all who read these words would not only receive Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”, but also be willing to have a passion like Paul the apostle to share Him with others.

Next time Paul tells the believers in Rome how he operated, having a great desire these many years to come unto you, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
