The Twenty Four Elders Fall Down Revelation 4:10

John the apostle saw the “throne” of God and all it's glory in heaven, and he shared how there, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind”. He continued to describe the beasts as he wrote,“And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.” He added, “And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come”, and he continued, “And when those beasts give glory and honor and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who lives for ever and ever”. In chapter four and verse ten of Revelation John saw “the four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him” where we read:
The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that lives for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

The verse reads, The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, ...John began with the words, “the four and twenty elders” which means “the twenty-four presbyters, judges or rulers“fall down” or “descend from an erect to a prostrate position” “before him” which means “in front and in the presence of God” “that sat” or “who was seated, fixed and dwelt” “on the throne” which means “upon the chair of state which has a footstool and hence power belonging to Christ”. John saw the “twenty-four” “judges and rulers” bow before God's “throne” .

The verse continues, “.. and worship him that lives for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying” John added the words, ““and worship him” which means “were kneeling or prostration to do homage to God and to make obeisance in order to express respect or to make supplication” “that lives” which means “who is active, blessed and endless in His kingdom” “for ever” or “unto the unbroken age, perpetuity of time and eternity” “and ever” which means “and the unbroken age, perpetuity of time and eternity”, “and cast” or “and threw and scattered” “their crowns” which refers to “the twenty-four elder's symbols of honor like a prize in the public games” “before the throne” or “in front and in the presence of the chair of state which has a footstool and hence power belonging to Christ”,“saying” which means “uttering, proclaiming and declaring”. After John saw the declaration of the “four living beings”, he observed the “twenty-four elders” bowing before God's throne and “casting their crowns” before Him.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we see this awesome scene in heaven where the twenty-four elders” which represents the church “worshiping God” and “casting” their “crowns of rewards” before His feet. Oh how excited John must have been to see this wonderful display of adoration to our worthy Almighty God. God desires for every person to be a part of this wonderful celebration, and when they receive His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”, they too shall be a part of this exciting time. May all who read these words know and consider such a wonderful time of worship before God.

Next time we see what happens when “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
