Deep beneath the epiderm
where none with eye can see
the pains within the phony grin
the bruises cast on thee

the intent friend and foe
that caused hurt and waged girt

down deep within a wounded friend

the value culture mask
The goal unreached the failed attempt
exasperated quest

doth strip thee of thy rest
The aged suit expended range
doth strip thy soul without
no more attempt of life's contempt
the spirit filled with doubt
