Not Everyone Goes to Heaven Matthew 7:21

Matthew shared how Jesus told His disciples, Enter you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them”, and in chapter seven and verse twenty-one of his book, Matthew shared how Jesus told His disciples,“not every one that says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven” where we read:

Not every one that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;

but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven.

The verse reads, Not every one that says unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; Matthew began with the word, “not every one” or “not each person whether male or female” “that says” or “who utters, declares and proclaims” “unto me” which refers to “Jesus”, “Lord” or the One to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master and the title given to God the Messiah ”, “Lord” which again is “the One to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of deciding; master and the title given to God the Messiah”, “shall enter into” which means “will come into and be allow entrance in” ”the kingdom” or “the rule, realm, royal power, kingship and dominion” “of heaven” which refers to “the region above the sidereal heavens where the seat of order of things eternal and consummately perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings”. Jesus said not “everyone” who proclaims Him as “Lord” will be allowed entrance into His Kingdom.

The verse continues, but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew added the word, “but” or “nevertheless, notwithstanding and with exception” “he that does” which means “the person whether male or female who performs, makes, brings forth, causes and shows” “the will” or “the wishes, purpose, choice and desire” “of my Father” which means “of Jesus' One whom God has united to himself in the closest bond of love and intimacy, made acquainted with his purposes, appointed to explain and carry out among men the plan of salvation and made to share also in his own divine nature” “which is in heaven” or “who abides within the region above the sidereal heavens where the seat of order of things eternal and consummately perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings”. Jesus declared that only those who do “God the Father's” will shall gain entrance into “heaven”.

When we think through Matthew's words in this verse, we see how there will be many who are deceived because they call Jesus “Lord” and do not perform the “Heavenly Father's” “will”. God desires to have a relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and when they align with His “one way” for entrance into the “Kingdom of Heaven”, they “do” His will. God wants every person to be in “the Kingdom of Heaven”, and those who “will” believe and trust in His Son Jesus as “Savior and Lord” shall be with Him forever. Let all who read these words take heed that they be not deceived and find themselves outside of God's “Heavenly Kingdom”.

Next time Jesus tells His disciples, many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
