No Man Knows the Son but the Father - Matthew 11:27

Matthew the apostle shared how Jesus, “answered and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in your sight”, and in chapter eleven and verse twenty-seven of his book, Matthew shared how Jesus declared, “no man knows the Son, but the Father” where we read:

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knows the Son, but the Father; neither knows any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

The verse reads, All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knows the Son, but the Father;” Matthew began with the words, “all things” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone of things” “are delivered” which refers to “being given into the hands of, committed and commended” “unto me” which means “to Jesus” “of my Father” or “from Jesus' one whom God has united to himself in the closest bond of love and intimacy, made acquainted with his purposes, appointed to explain and carry out among men the plan of salvation and made to share also in his own divine nature”: “and no man” which means “no person whether male or female” “knows” or “is thoroughly acquainted with, recognizes, perceives and ascertains” “the Son” which refers to “Jesus as the Messiah”, “but” or “whether and except” “the Father” which refers to “the one whom God has united to himself in the closest bond of love and intimacy, made acquainted with his purposes, appointed to explain and carry out among men the plan of salvation and made to share also in his own divine nature”. Matthew shared how Jesus said “everything” has been “given over to and committed” to Him, and that “not one person” really “knows” Him except God Himself.

The verse continues, neither knows any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.” Matthew added the word, “neither” which means “no and not in any way” “knows” or “is thoroughly acquainted with, recognizes, perceives and ascertains” “any man” which means “any person whether male or female” “the Father” or “the one whom God has united to himself in the closest bond of love and intimacy, made acquainted with his purposes, appointed to explain and carry out among men the plan of salvation and made to share also in his own divine nature”, “save” which means “whether and except” “the Son” which refers to “Jesus as the Messiah”, “and he to whomsoever” or “and toward the person whether male or female” “the Son” which refers to “Jesus as the Messiah” “will reveal him” which means “shall expose, uncover, make bare, known and manifest God the Father”. Matthew shared how Jesus declared that no one really knows God other than Himself, but He added that He is able to “expose” and “make God known” to whomsoever He wills.

When we meditate upon Matthew's words in this verse, we see how Jesus has been “given” all things by God the Father, and there is an intimate connection between He and His Father God in heaven. God desires to have a loving relationship with every person, and Jesus is ready and willing to “reveal” Him to all who will receive Him as their personal “Savior and Lord”. Should He not be “exposed or revealed” to someone reading these words, let them pray to God in Heaven and ask Him to have Jesus “reveal” God the Father to them, and they shall not be disappointed with the Creator of the universe.

Next time Matthew shares how Jesus proclaims, “come unto me, all you who labor and are heavy laden”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
