The apostle John wrote how Jesus told His disciples, “I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. Of sin, because they believe not on me. Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you see me no more;”, and in chapter sixteen and verse eleven of his book John shared how Jesus told His disciples, “of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged” where we read:
Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
The verse reads, “Of judgment, ...” John began with Jesus' words, “of judgment” which means “pertaining to opinion or decision given concerning anything”. John shared how Jesus expounded on the idea of the “Comforter Holy Spirit” convicting people of their “opinions and decisions” made concerning any circumstance or situation.
The verse continues, “... because the prince of this world is judged.”. John added the words, “because the prince of this world” or “since and on account that the ruler, commander, chief and leader of the earth and it's inhabitants” “is judged” which means “exists as put asunder, approved, esteemed, preferred and governed”. John shared how Jesus said the reason the “Comforter Holy Spirit” would convict in “judgment” was “because” the “leader and ruler” of the “earth” was to be “governed over and put asunder”.
When we consider John's words in this verse, we learn how Jesus said the reason the “Comforter Holy Spirit” would convict people concerning “opinions and decisions” is because the “ruler of this world” who is “Satan” is “put asunder”. Jesus defeated “Satan” on the cross, and the “Holy Spirit of God” convinces people this is true. God sent His Son Jesus to pay the price of death for the sins of all mankind, and anyone who believes and trusts in Him as their personal “Savior and Lord” will be forgiven of their sins and receive everlasting life from God. Those who are wise will carefully study the role of “the Comforter” and yield their life to Jesus who was victorious over the “ruler of this world”.
Next time we see John share how Jesus says, “I have yet many things to say unto you”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
