Jesus Came from the Father - John 16:28

The apostle John wrote how Jesus told His disciples, the time comes, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall show you plainly of the Father. At that day you shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you. For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God”, and in chapter sixteen and verse twenty-eight of his book John shared how Jesus told His disciples, “I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world” where we read:

I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world:

again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

The verse reads,I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: John began with the words, “I came forth” which means “I, Jesus, arose and appeared” “from the Father” or “apart from the Heavenly Father God”, “and am come into the world” which means “and have entered and come forth into the earth”. John shared how Jesus told His disciple that He “came” from God His Heavenly Father to be upon the “earth”.

The verse goes on to say, again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. John continued with the words, “again, I leave the world” or “and yet another time, I, Jesus, depart and go forth from the earth”, “and go to the Father” which means “and leave and depart to the Heavenly Father God”. John shared how Jesus told His disciples though He came to the “earth”, He would depart from it and return to His Heavenly Father God.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we learn how Jesus clearly shared how He “came” from His Father God and was to return to Him again. Although His disciples were not clear about this saying, we know Jesus came to the world to die for the sins of mankind, was resurrected from the dead three days later and after some time returned to His Father in Heaven. God's desire is to have a personal, intimate relationship with every person, and He sent His Son Jesus to die for their sins so they may live with Him forever. When a person surrenders their life to Jesus, He will forgive their sins and grant them everlasting life with His Father God. Those who are wise will understand Jesus' words and yield their life to the only One who is able to furnish them with eternal life with God.

Next time John shares how Jesus' disciples say to Jesus, “speak plainly, and speak no proverb”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
