The Comforter Holy Ghost Teacher - John 14:26

The apostle John wrote how, Judas said unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loves me not keeps not my sayings: and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you”, and in chapter fourteen and verse twenty-six of his book John shared how Jesus said, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost … shall teach you all things”, where we read:

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The verse reads,But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, ... John began with the words, “But the Comforter” which means “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover the one called alongside, the pleader, counsel, legal and assistant for defense”, “which is the Holy Ghost” or “who is the most holy third person of the triune God, the Holy Spirit, coequal and co-eternal with the Father and the Son”, “whom the Father” or “who the Heavenly Father God” “will send in my name” which means “shall dispatch and assign within my, Jesus', everything which the name covers, everything the thought or feeling of which is aroused in the mind by mentioning, hearing, remembering”, “he shall teach you” or “the Comforter Holy Spirit will hold didactic discourses, instruct and impart instruction to you, disciples of Jesus” “all things” which means “each, every, the whole and everything needed”. John shared how Jesus told His disciples “the Holy Spirit” of God who is called “the Comforter” would be sent by “Father God” in Jesus' “name” and would “instruct” and “impart instruction” to them.

The verse goes on to say, ... and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.John continued with the words, “and bring all things” which means “and remind, admonish and cause to remember each, every, the whole and everything needed” “to your remembrance” or “to the disciples of Jesus' memory”, “whatsoever I have said unto you” which means “whatever I, Jesus, have uttered, declared and proclaimed to you, disciples of Jesus”. John shared how Jesus said the “Holy Spirit” who is known as the “Comforter” would remind His disciples of whatever He told them.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we learn how Jesus promised that “the Comforter Holy Spirit” would come to His disciples and remind them of whatever He told them. “The One Who Comes Alongside” will be with every person who yields their life to Jesus, and when they surrender to Him, the Holy Spirit will teach them what they need in their lives. God loves people, and He understands their inability to remember what Jesus said on their own. Those who are wise surrender their lives to Jesus who provides “the Comforter” to give them aid for all their earthly lives.

Next time John shares how Jesus tells His disciples, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
