The Precious Saint's Death - Psalms 116:15

In Psalms one hundred sixteen the Psalmist said, “I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people”, and in chapter one hundred sixteen and verse fifteen of Psalms the Psalmist said, “precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints” where we read,

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

The verse begins with the words, “Precious in the sight of the LORD ...” The Psalmist began with the word, “precious” or “valuable, prized, splendid and costly” “in the sight” which means “within the mental and spiritual faculty” “of the LORD” or “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” exists the following. The Psalmist said Jehovah God considers the following as valuable and splendid within His spiritual faculties.

The verse continues, “... is the death of his saints.” The Psalmist added the words, “is the death” or “exists the ruin, pestilence and dying” “of his saints” which means “pertaining to his, Jehovah God's, faithful, kind, godly and pious people”. The Psalmist said the dying of Jehovah God's sacred and pious people is “precious” in His “sight”.

When we think through the Psalmist's words in this verse, we learn how the “death” of Jehovah God's “sacred” people is valuable and prized. Although “death” came upon mankind because of sin, God sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we surrender our lives to Him as our personal “Lord and Savior”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and be assured that Jehovah God will consider our “death” as splendid, prized and valuable as we go to live with Him forevermore.

Next time the Psalmist says, “O LORD, truly I am your servant”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
