Lead in the Way of Righteousness - Proverbs 8:20

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said of wisdom, “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honor are with me; yes, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver”, and in chapter eight and verse twenty of Proverbs Solomon said, “I lead in the way of righteousness” where we read,

I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

The verse begins, “I lead in the way of righteousness ... Solomon began with the words, “I lead” or “I, wisdom, walk, depart, proceed and move” in the way of righteousness which means “within the path, roadway and manner pertaining to that which is right, just, lawful, truthful and correct”. Solomon shared how God's “wisdom” guides a person on a roadway of justice, truthfulness and what is right according to Him.

The verse goes on to say, “... in the midst of the paths of judgment:” Solomon continued with the words, “in the midst” or “within the middle or center” “of the paths” which means “belonging to the trodden pathway” “of judgment” or “belonging to justice, ordinance, process, procedure, litigation, cause and a decision of what is right”. Solomon said God's “wisdom” also exists within the middle of the trodden pathways which belong to justice, process and litigation.

When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through Solomon how God's “wisdom” guides a person according to His righteous and just ways. His “wisdom” is within the middle of our lives and consists in agreement with that which is correct, lawful and just. God wants us to be wise, and the wisest choice we shall ever make is where we shall spend eternity. There are only two options: Heaven with God or Hell where we will be eternally separated from Him. He gave His Son Jesus to the world to be crucified on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and provide us with His “wisdom” as we make our way in the world and before His eyes.

Next time Solomon says, “that I may cause those that love me to inherit substance”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
