Made Alive in Mortal Bodies Romans 8:11

Paul the apostle told the people in Rome,if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin;
but the Spirit is life because of righteousness”, and in chapter eight and verse eleven of Romans, Paul told his readers how God, “shall also quicken your mortal bodies” where we read:

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.

The verse begins, But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, ...” Paul began with the word, “but” which means “moreover and” “if the Spirit” or “whether the third person of the triune God or the Holy Spirit who is coequal, co-eternal with the Father and the Son”“of him” which refers to “God Himself” “that raised up” or “who aroused from sleep, awoke, caused to appear and stirred” “Jesus” whose name means “Jehovah is Salvation” and is “the Son of God, the Savior of mankind and God incarnate” “from the dead” or “out of and away from one who has breathed his last, lifeless, deceased, departed and inanimate” “dwell” which means “lives, resides, inhabits and cohabits” “in you” which refers to “within the believing readers in Rome”. Paul presented the condition of God's Holy Spirit, who “resurrected” Jesus “from the dead”, living and abiding in his readers' lives.

The verse goes on to say, “... he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.” Paul continued with the words, “he that raised up” which means “God who aroused from sleep, awoke, caused to appear and stirred” “Christ” or “the anointed One, the Messiah and the Son of God” “from the dead” which means “out of and away from one who has breathed his last, lifeless, deceased, departed and inanimate” “shall also quicken” which means “will also make alive and give life by spiritual power to arouse and invigorate” “your mortal bodies” or “Paul's readers' bodies that are liable and subject to death” “by his Spirit” which refers to “through and by means of the third person of the triune God or the Holy Spirit who is coequal, co-eternal with the Father and the Son” “that dwells” or “who lives, resides, inhabits and cohabits” “in you” which refers to Paul's “believing readers in Rome”. Paul shared how Jesus “Christ” shall also “give life” “by His spiritual power” to his believing readers' bodies which are subject to “death”.

When we consider these words of Paul, we see his reference to God's resurrection power over the “death” of His Son Jesus, and He provides the same promise to “believers” in Jesus. God has power over “death”, and He provides His Spirit to overcome the pending and overshadowing penalty of “death” which is the result of “sin”. Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life”, (John 3:16), and His desire is to “save” every person who will “trust in, rely upon and cling to” Him.

Next time Paul tells his readers, “we are debtors, not to the flesh”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
