Freely Given All Things Romans 8:32

Paul the apostle told the people in Rome,What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”, and in chapter eight and verse thirty-two of Romans, Paul asked his readers how God shall not with Jesus, “freely give us all things” where we read:

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all,
how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

The verse begins, He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, ...Paul began with the words, “he that spared not” which means “God who did not forbear, abstain or treat leniently” “his own Son” or “God's begotten posterity and descendant”, “but delivered him up” which means “nevertheless, notwithstanding, moreover and allowed Jesus to be committed, commended and permitted” “for us all” or “on behalf of each, every, the whole and everyone”. Paul shared how god did not “forbear” to offer up His Own Son Jesus for the benefit of any and all who will believe and trust in Him.

The verse goes on to say, ... how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?Paul continued with the words, “how shall he not or “in what way will God not” “with him” which means “alongside Jesus” “also” which means “even so and indeed” “freely give us” or “graciously bestow, restore and preserve Paul, his companions and his believing readers” “all things” which means “each, every, the whole and everything”. Since God did not withhold His Own Son Jesus, Paul questioned his believing readers as to whether God would “graciously bestow” upon them “everything” they need.

When we consider these words of Paul, we see how God did not “abstain” from offering up His best, Jesus Christ His Son, that all who shall believe in Him may obtain “everlasting life”. In other words, God, who owns and possesses all things, gave His Son to die for the sins of the world, and those who put their “faith and trust” in Jesus have access not only to God Himself, but also to His provision for them. God loves people, and He loves them so much that He gave His Son to die for their sins, and since this is true, we can trust that He will provide whatever we need according to His divine purpose and plan.

Next time Paul asks his readers, “who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect?”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
