Paul
the apostle told the people in Rome,
“he
that searches the hearts knows what is
the mind of the Spirit”,
and he added, “because
he makes intercession for the saints according to the
will of
God.” In
chapter eight and verse twenty-eight of Romans,
Paul told his readers, “all
things work together for good to them that love God” where
we read:
And
we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
The
verse begins, “
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God, ...”
Paul
began with the words, “and
we know that”
which means “Paul, his companions and his believing readers
perceive, notice, discern, discover and observe” “all
things”
or “each, every, the whole and everything”
“work together”
which means “helps in work, partners in labor, puts forth power
together with and thereby assists” “for
good”
or “towards a good constitution or nature, usefulness and salutary,
pleasant, agreeable and joyful uprightness and honor” “to
them that”
which means “toward people whether male or female” “that
love God”
or “who welcome, are pleased with and contented with the Godhead
bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the
Son and the Holy Spirit”. Paul told his readers how he, his
companions and his believing readers “knew” “everything”
“helps, partners with and puts forth power” for a “useful,
pleasant, agreeable and joyful purpose” to every person who “loves
God”.
The
verse continues, “...
to them who are the called according to his
purpose.”
Paul
added the words, “to
them”
or “to the people whether male or female” “who
are the called”
which means “that are invited to obtain eternal salvation in the
kingdom through Jesus Christ” “according
to”
which means “down from, through out and towards” “his
purpose”
or “on behalf of God's setting forth of a thing, placing in view
and exposed intention”. Paul declared people who are “invited to
obtain eternal salvation through Jesus ” as the recipients of “all
things working together for good”.
When
we think through these words of Paul, we see how “everything” is
“working and powering together” for “good” to people
who “commit themselves in love to God through His Son Jesus”.
Those who receive God's Son Jesus Christ as their personal “Savior
and Lord” may know every situation and circumstance they face will
work for “God's purposes and intentions”. Whether times are
“good” or “bad”, “easy” or “hard”, God uses every
situation to His “purpose and intention”. Though those going
through difficult times may not understand everything that is going
on, they may know through Paul's words that God is going to use the
experience for His “divine purpose and good”.
Next
time Paul tells his readers, “for
whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

tomorrow…there is more…
