What Fruit in Things Ashamed Romans 6:21

Paul the apostle told the people in Rome, when you were the servants of sin, you were free from righteousness”, and in chapter six and twenty-one of Romans, Paul asked the Romans, “what fruit had you then in those things whereof you are now ashamed?” where we read:

What fruit had you then in those things whereof you are now ashamed?
for the end of those things is death.
The verse begins, What fruit had you then in those things whereof you are now ashamed?” Paul began with the words, “what fruit” which means “which sort of deeds, acts or works” “had you then” which means “did Paul's readers have therefore, accordingly, consequently and these things being so” “whereof” or “of which” “your are now ashamed” which means “Paul's readers at the present moment and time felt shame”. Paul recognized how his readers felt “shame” over their “deeds and acts” performed before they knew Jesus Christ as their “Savior and Lord”.

The verse goes on to say, for the end of those things is death.” Paul began with the words “for the end” or “because and since the termination and limit to which a things ceases to be” “of those things” which means “of the “shameful fruit” “is death” or “that separation (whether natural or violent) of the soul and the body by which the life on earth is ended”. Paul shared how the “final termination” of the “sinful things” which brought “shame” was “the end of life”.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how “sin's fruit” is “death”. In other words, the final result of the “sin-filled” life is to die. God told Adam, (the first man), “in the day that you eat thereof, you shall surely die”. (See Genesis 2:17). Jesus Christ came to fulfill God's requirement for “righteousness”, and He lived a flawless life. He died for the “sins” of the world and rose again from the grave three days later to demonstrate death's defeat. Now everyone who puts their “faith and trust” in Him shall be saved and are promised “everlasting life”.

Next time Paul tells the people in Rome what happens since, “being made free from sin, and become servants to God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
