Matthew the apostle wrote how Jesus told His disciples, “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left”, and in chapter twenty-five and verse thirty-four of his book, Matthew writes how Jesus said, “the King shall say … Come … inherit the kingdom” where we read:
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
The verse reads, “Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, you blessed of my Father, ...” Matthew began with Jesus' word, “then” which means “at that time and moment” “shall the King” or “will the leader of the people, prince, commander and lord of the Land Jesus” “say unto them” which means “utter, declare and proclaim to the nations” “on his right hand” or “who are set upon the Son of man's right hand of authority”, “Come” which means “come here”, “you blessed” or “nations who are caused to prosper, are made happy and favored” “of my Father” which refers to “belonging to the King Jesus' Father who is God”. Matthew shared how Jesus gave an invitation to the prosperous “nations” that are set upon his “right hand” of power and authority.
The verse goes on to say, “... inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:” Matthew continued with Jesus' word, “inherit” which means “receive as an heir of inheritance” “the kingdom prepared” or “the royal power, kingship, dominion and rule which is made ready” “for you” which means “for the nations upon Jesus' right hand” “from the foundation” or “at the origin, conception and founding” “of the world” which means “pertaining to the circle of the earth and the universe” . Matthew shared how Jesus said the “King's invitation” was to “inherit” God's Kingdom which was “made ready” for the “nations” upon Jesus' “right hand” from the origin of the “earth and universe”.
When we think through Matthew's words in this verse, we see the wonderful “inheritance” that has been planned for people who align themselves with God's “salvation” through His Son Jesus Christ. Those who have yielded their lives to Him as “Savior and Lord” will receive God's Kingdom by His unmerited favor and grace, and God's Kingdom is available to everyone who will believe and trust in Jesus. Let all who read these words understand the purpose of God to “save” every person and give them “everlasting life” in His Kingdom.
Next time Matthew writes how Jesus says, “I was hungry, and you gave me meat: I was thirsty and you gave me drink”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
