Mark wrote how Jesus, “said unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answered again, and said unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?”, and in chapter ten and verse twenty-seven of his book, Mark shared how Jesus told His disciples, “with God all things are possible” where we read:
And Jesus looking upon them said, With men it is impossible, but not with God:
for with God all things are possible.
The verse reads, “And Jesus looking upon them said, With men it is impossible, but not with God:” Mark began with the words, “and Jesus” which means “and Jesus whose name means Jehovah is Salvation and is the Son of God, the Savior of mankind and God incarnate” “looking upon them” or “turned His eyes upon and considered His disciples” “said” which means “uttered, declared and proclaimed”, “With men” or “from and by people whether male or female” “it is impossible” which means “salvation is without strength, impotent, powerless, weakly and disabled” “but not with God” or “nevertheless, nonetheless, without exception and restriction not so from and by the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. Mark shared how Jesus said salvation is “impossible” with people, but not so “with God”.
The verse continues, “for with God all things are possible.” Mark added the words, “for with God” which means “because, since and on account by the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “all things” or “each, every, the whole and everyone of the things that may done” “are possible” which means “are able, capable and accomplishable”. Mark shared how God the Father makes “all things”, including the salvation of mankind”, capable and able to be done.
When we think through Mark's words in this verse, we see how limited man is in his efforts to “save” himself. Jesus said, “it is impossible”, and for anyone to think they are capable of extending their life into the “eternal state” without the help of God, they walk down a pointless path. God the Father “so loved the world, that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Only God could to this, and this is His way for the “eternal salvation” of mankind. Those who believe and trust in Jesus will receive “everlasting life”, and those who do not, shall find themselves working toward an “impossible” effort that shall end in “eternal separation” from God.
Next time Mark shares how Jesus tells His disciples, “with men it is impossible, but not with God” , so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
