Mark wrote how Jesus and His disciples, “came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, you Son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, You Son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calls you. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What will you that I should do unto you? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight”, and in chapter ten and verse fifty-two of his book, Mark shared how Jesus said to Bartimaeus, “Go your way; your faith has made you whole” where we read:
And Jesus said unto him, Go your way; your faith has made you whole.
And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
The verse reads, “And Jesus said unto him, Go your way; your faith has made you whole.” Mark began with the words, “and Jesus” which refers to “the Son of God, the Savior of mankind and God incarnate whose name means Jehovah is Salvation”, “said unto him” or “uttered, declared and proclaimed to Bartimaeus”, “Go your way” which means “depart and withdraw yourself”; “your faith” or “Bartimaeus' conviction of the truth and belief” “has made you whole” which means “has saved, rescued and delivered Bartimaeus”. Mark shared how Jesus told “Bartimaeus” that his “belief and trust” in Him made him well.
The verse goes on to say, “And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.” Mark continues with the words, “and immediately” which means “and straightway and forthwith” “he received his sight” or “Bartimaeus recovered his sight and could see”, “and followed” which means “and accompanied and became a disciple of” “Jesus” or “the Son of God, the Savior of mankind and God incarnate whose name means Jehovah is Salvation” “in the way” which means “along the traveled road and pathway”. Mark shared how “Barimaeus' sight” was restored and he became a “disciple” of Jesus on the pathway.
When we meditate upon Mark's words in this verse, we see how Jesus “healed” “Bartimaeus”, and his sight was restored. This caused “Bartimaeus” to be as one of Jesus' “students and attendants”, and he demonstrated the best response for one who has been “healed” “physically and spiritually” by Jesus. God wants all people to come to Him through His Son Jesus, and when they yield themselves to Him, they shall be clear sighted in their relationship with Almighty God the Father.
Next time we begin a new chapter and see Mark share how Jesus, “sends out two of his disciples” , so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
