The Kingdom of God is Within You - Luke 17:21

The beloved physician Luke wrote about Jesus, “when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God comes not with observation:”, and in chapter seventeen and verse twenty-one of his book Luke wrote how Jesus said, “the kingdom of God is within you” where we read:

Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

The verse reads, “Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there!” Luke began with the words, “neither shall they say” or “no and not in any way will people looking for the Kingdom of God utter, declare and proclaim”, “Lo here” which means “behold and look at this place”! “or, lo there” or “or behold and look at that place”! Luke shared how Jesus declared that people looking for “God's Kingdom” would not be able to see it in “this” or “that” place.

The verse continues, “for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke added the words, “for, behold” or “because, since and on account that, lo, see and consider”, “the kingdom of God” which means “the royal power, rule, reign and dominion” “is within you” or “exists inside people”. Luke shared how Jesus declared “God's Kingdom” was inside of them.

When we meditate upon Luke's words in this verse, we learn how the “Kingdom of God” is unlike the “kingdoms” of this world. Most of the world's kingdoms are seen outwardly, but “God's Kingdom” is a spiritual “Kingdom” that exists within a person when they receive His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”. Those who are wise will not be looking for the “Kingdom of God” with their eyes, but will be searching their “souls” to insure they are a part of Almighty God's rule.
