After
sharing about God desiring to extend his “mercy”
to all people, Paul the apostle asked
the believing people in Rome, “who
has known the mind of the Lord? or who has been his counselor? Or who
has first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?”,
and in chapter
eleven and verse thirty-six of Romans,
Paul told his believing readers, “of
him, through him and to him are all things”
where we
read:
For
of him, and through him, and to him, are
all things: to whom be
glory for ever. Amen.
The
verse begins, “For
of him, and through him, and to him, are
all things:”
Paul
began with the words, “for
of him”
which means “because and since pertaining to God”, “and
through him”
or “and by way and means of God”, “and
to him”
which refers to“toward and with God”, “are
all things”
which refers to “exists each, every, the whole and everything”.
Paul shared how God is the source of everything that is made.
The
verse goes on to say, “to
whom be
glory for ever. Amen.”.
Paul
continued with the words, “to
whom” or
“toward God” “be
glory”
which
means “be splendor, brightness, praise and honor” “for
ever”
or “unto the unbroken age, perpetuity of time and eternity”.
“Amen”
which means “so it is, so be it and may it be fulfilled”. Paul
shared how “honor and praise” should be attributed to God
throughout all eternity, and he finalized it with the words, “so
let it be and let it be so”.
When
we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how God is the source of
everything that exists, and nothing owing to “salvation” of
mankind comes from any one else. God made everything, saw man sin,
sent His Son Jesus to pay the penalty of death for sin, and offers
man to be “saved” through His Son Jesus. “Praise and honor”
are due to God, and adoration shall continue throughout all ages
without end.
Next
time we begin a new chapter and see Paul tell his believing readers
in Rome, “I
beseech
you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until
tomorrow…there is more…
