In Psalms chapter ten David asked, “Wherefore does the wicked contemn God? he has said in his heart, You will not require it. You have seen it; for you behold mischief and spite, to requite it with your hand: the poor commits himself unto you; you are the helper of the fatherless”, and in Psalms chapter ten and verse fifteen David said, “Break you the arm of the wicked and the evil man” where we read,
Break you the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till you find none.
The verse begins, “Break you the arm of the wicked and the evil man:” David began with the words, “Break you the arm” which means “wreck, crush and rupture you, Jehovah God, the forearm, shoulder, strength and forces” “of the wicked” or “belonging to the person who is criminal, morally wrong and bad” “and the evil man” which means “and the person whether male or female who is unpleasant, displeasing, miserable and hurtful”. David told Jehovah God to “wreck and crush” the power and strength of people who are criminal, morally wrong, miserable and hurtful.
The verse goes on to say, “seek out his wickedness till you find none .” David continued with the words, “seek out his wickedness” or “resort to, demand, require and study the wicked person's wrong, guilt, violence and iniquity” “till you find none” which means “until the time when you, Jehovah God, discover, attain and recognize not any wicked acts or deeds at all”. David desired that Jehovah God search for the evil deeds and acts of “wicked” people and remove them until no violence and iniquity is discovered at all.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how David left vengeance to Jehovah God for the acts and deeds of wicked people. God knows every “wicked” deed that people do, and His purpose and plan for sending His Son Jesus was to pay the penalty of death on the cross for the sin and “wickedness” of the world. Sin separates a person from God, and their “wickedness” will keep them from a personal loving relationship with Him. Anyone who yields to Jesus will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with God. All others will indeed have to contend with God who is able to “crush and wreck” their pernicious acts by His mighty hand. Let us praise the LORD for making us aware of His knowledge of the “wicked”, and may we “commit” to Him all judgment of those who refuse and reject His cleansing through His Son Jesus.
Next time David says, “The LORD is King for ever and ever”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
