Who is God Save the LORD? - Psalms 18:31

In Psalms chapter eighteen David said, “As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him”, and in chapter eighteen and verse thirty-one of Psalms David asked, “For who is God save the LORD?” where we read,

For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?

The verse begins, “For who is God save the LORD?” David began with the words, “For who is God” which means “because, surely and doubtless what person exists as the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God” “save the LORD” or “apart from, except and besides Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”? David asked what person exists who is the Divine and Supreme God other than Jehovah God.

The verse goes on to say, “or who is a rock save our God?” David continued with the words, “or who is a rock” or “what person exists as a block of stone or bolder of refuge and strength” “save our God” which means “except David's and the people who believe in the Divine judge, ruler and Supreme God”. David asked what person exists who is like a stone or bolder of refuge like the Supreme God of he and his fellow believers.

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David relied upon Jehovah God as the only True God and a refuge like no other. God alone can “Save” people from their sins through a relationship with His Son Jesus, and when He sent Jesus to the world to die on the cross, He did so that people may be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with Him. Let us ask also ask David's questions, “who is God save the LORD”, and “who is a rock save our God” as we believe and trust in Him for all eternity.
