The LORD Looked Down from Heaven - Psalms 14:2

In Psalms chapter fourteen David wrote, the fool has said in his heart, there is no God”, and in Psalms chapter fourteen and verse two David said, the LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men” where we read,

The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men,

to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

The verse begins, The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, ... David began with the words, “The LORD” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “looked down from heaven” or “leaned over to peep and gaze from the abode above the stars and universe” “upon the children of men” which means “on account and in behalf of the sons, grandsons, offspring and progeny of people whether male or female”. David declared how Jehovah God gazed upon the offspring of mankind from His Heavenly abode.

The verse goes on to say, “... to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. David continued with the words, “to see if there were any” or “to inspect, consider and perceive whether and in case there existed one person” “that did understand” which means “who had insight into, comprehended and acted wisely”, “and seek God” or “and resorted to, inquired of, consulted and studied the royal ruler and judge who is the Supreme deity and God”. David said God looked upon people from His Heavenly abode to discover whether there was any person who comprehended and consulted with the Supreme ruler and God.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn from David how God is interested in people. David shared how He observes them from His Heavenly abode and desires to discover whether any of them comprehended and consulted with Him. We shall see what He observes in our next verse, but for now let us realize God loves people. He created us. He gave us charge over His creation, and He desires to have a loving personal relationship with every person who yields themselves to His Son Jesus. When we submit to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us eternal life and be involved in our lives every day as we comprehend and look for Him. Praise be to the Lord for His interest in people and His desire to be with us for all eternity.

Next time David says, they are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
