In Psalms chapter ten David said, “The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land”, and in Psalms chapter ten and verse seventeen David said, “LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble” where we read,
LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble:
you will prepare their heart, you will cause your ear to hear:
The verse begins, “LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble:” David began with the words, “LORD, you have heard the desire” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God, you, Jehovah God, have listened to, understood, consented with, agreed and granted the request, wish and appetite” “of the humble” or “belonging to the afflicted, meek, poor, needy and weak”. David referred to how Jehovah God listens to people who are afflicted, weak and poor.
The verse goes on to say, “you will prepare their heart, you will cause your ear to hear:” David continued with the words, “you will prepare their heart” or “you, Jehovah God, shall establish, make firm and fixed the inner man, mind, reflection and memory of the humble and afflicted person”, “you will cause your ear to hear” which means “you, Jehovah God, shall incline your hearing, audience and revealing to listen, perceive and understand”. David wrote how Jehovah God would fix and establish the inner man and soul of the “humble” person, and He will listen to them.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see how David knew Jehovah God would pay attention to the afflicted and poor, and He will establish their souls and listen to their cries. God cares about people because He loves them, and when they yield to His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”, they not only are forgiven for the sins in their lives which separate them from God, but they also are placed under His care and concern. God loves us, and His plan of redemption and salvation should cause us to praise and honor Him for all eternity for His wonderful provision and care.
Next time David says, “To judge the fatherless and the oppressed”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
