In Psalms chapter eighteen David said, “With the merciful you will show yourself merciful; with an upright man you will show yourself upright”, and in chapter eighteen and verse twenty-six of Psalms David said, “with the pure you will show yourself pure” where we read,
With the pure you will show yourself pure; and with the froward you will show yourself froward.
The verse begins, “With the pure you will show yourself pure;” David began with the words, “With the pure” which means “toward people who exist as select, polished, purged, cleansed, made bright and proved” “you will show yourself pure” or “you, Jehovah God, will demonstrate your own self as select, bright and polished”. David said Jehovah God would demonstrate His own “brilliance” toward people who are “select, purged, cleansed and proved”.
The verse goes on to say, “and with the froward you will show yourself froward.” David continued with the words, “and with the froward” or “and toward the perverse, distorted and false” “you will show yourself froward” which means “you, Jehovah God, will demonstrate your own self as morally tortuous, unsavory and producing struggling”. David wrote how Jehovah God would demonstrate “tortuous” behavior towards people who are perverse and distorted themselves.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see through David how Jehovah God reciprocates “pure” acts with His own brightness, and He rewards people who are perverse and distorted with “tortuous” and struggling conditions. God desires to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and when they submit to Him, He will forgive their sins and grant them everlasting life. From this relationship God will purify and cleanse all who yield to Him, and we will give Him praise for all eternity for His willingness to help us in our areas of need.
Next time David says, “you will save the afflicted people”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
