In Psalms chapter ten David asked, “Wherefore does the wicked contemn God? he has said in his heart, You will not require it. You have seen it; for you behold mischief and spite, to requite it with your hand: the poor commits himself unto you; you are the helper of the fatherless. Break you the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till you find none”, and in Psalms chapter ten and verse sixteen David said, “The LORD is King for ever and ever” where we read,
The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
The verse begins, “The LORD is King for ever and ever:” David began with the words, “The LORD is King” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God exists as the royal ruler and king” “for ever and ever” or “evermore, everlasting, always and to an indefinite and unending future and eternity”. David said “Jehovah” exists as the “royal authority” for all eternity.
The verse continues, “the heathen are perished out of his land.” David added the words, “the heathen are perished” or “the pagan Gentiles, foreign nations, non-Hebrews are vanished, destroyed and exterminated” “out of his land” which means “apart and separate from the heathen person's country, territory, district and region”. David wrote how people who are pagan and apart from God vanish from their own country and territory.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how David declared Jehovah God to be the ruling authority for all eternity, and pagan foreigners will be destroyed and exterminated from their territories and regions. In other words, they will not get away with their evil and wrong. God will avenge the afflicted and unfortunate because He rules and reigns. Those who are wicked and evil will be judged by the Lord unless they humble themselves before His Son Jesus, repent of their sins and submit themselves to His Lordship. God loves people, and without a personal relationship with His Son Jesus, they remain in their sins and will forever be separated from Him. When we become aware of God's desire to change us rather than leave us in a condemned state, we should give Jehovah God praise for His intervention in advance of Him allowing us to perish out of our land.
Next time David says, “LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
