The Channels of Water - Psalms 18:15

In Psalms chapter eighteen David wrote, “The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire. Yes, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them”, and in chapter eighteen and verse fifteen of Psalms David said, “the channels of waters were seen” where we read,

Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at your rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.

The verse begins, “Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at your rebuke, O LORD, ...” David began with the words, “Then the channels of waters” which means “at that time the ravines, streams, brooks or mighty rivers containing water” “were seen” or “existed as observed, noticed, perceived and beheld”, “and the foundations of the world” which means “and the base foundations belonging to the earth, arable land, country, territory and region” “were discovered” or “were uncovered, revealed, disclosed and made known” “at your rebuke” which means “at your, Jehovah God's, reproof and chiding”, “O LORD” or “O Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. David said “rivers of waters” and the base foundations belonging to the “earth” were discovered and revealed by Jehovah God's reproof and chiding.

The verse continues, “at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.” David added the words, “at the blast” or “at the breath, spirit and inspirational soul” “of your nostrils” which means “belonging to your, Jehovah God's, nose, face or nostrils of the nose which depicted His anger”. David wrote how Jehovah God's inspirational spirit demonstrated His anger toward His enemies,

When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn through David how the “rivers in the earth and the base foundations” of the world were revealed by Jehovah's reproof and chiding. In other words, the “channels” and foundational elements of the earth were made known as God showed His power to David. God breathed His inspirational breath in anger against David's foes, and yet, God desires a personal intimate relationship with every person through believing and trusting in His Son Jesus. When we yield to Him, we align with His ability to forgive sins, grant eternal life and watch over His believers with His Almighty power. Praise be unto Jehovah for His power, might, mercy and grace that will be demonstrated toward those who believe in Him and against those who refuse to yield to Him.
