The Law of the LORD is Perfect - Psalms 19:7

In Psalms chapter nineteen David wrote how Jehovah God's sun is, “going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof”, and in chapter nineteen and verse seven of Psalms David said, the law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul” where we read,

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul:

the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

The verse begins, The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: David began with the words, “the law” which means “the direction, instruction, codes of law, custom and manner of the precepts and statutes especially the Decalogue or Pentateuch” “of the LORD” or “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “is perfect” which means “exists as complete, whole, entire, sound and healthful”, “converting the soul” or “turning back or repenting the self, life, appetite, mind, living, desire, emotions and passions”. David said Jehovah God's code of law found in the Pentateuch or first five books of the Bible is complete, whole and has the power to cause the mind, desires and passions of a person to repent.

The verse goes on to say,the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. David continued with the words, “the testimony” or “the witness” “of the LORD” which means “belonging to Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “is sure” or “exists as supported, confirmed and faithful”, “making wise” which means “to teach wisdom in mind, word and acts” “the simple” or “the person who is naive, foolish and able to be seduced”. David wrote how the witness of Jehovah God is confirmed, faithful and able to make a naive and foolish person to conduct themselves with “wisdom”.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how David elevated both the “law” and the “witness” of Jehovah God. David did not have all the Bible like we do today. He had the first five books of the Bible known as the Pentateuch, and the kings of Israel were to read through them after their  coronation. (See Deuteronomy 17:18-20) David loved God's “law” and “witness” to him, and we see the effect of repentance and wisdom demonstrated within his life. Paul the apostle wrote, “the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.” (See Galatians 3:23-24) In other words, the “law” of God teaches us that we are sinners in need of Jesus Christ, and when we submit our lives to Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins and grant us eternal life. Jehovah God's “law” is “perfect and complete”, and the result from reading it is to turn from our sins. His faithful “testimony or witness” provides salvation to every person who believes.

Next time David says, the statutes of the LORD are right, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
