Changing the Truth of God into a Lie Romans 1:25

Paul the apostle told the church members in Rome people who did not “glorify” or “thank” God were, “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things”, and he added, “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts,
to dishonor their own bodies between themselves.” In chapter one and verse twenty-five of Romans, Paul told with the church members how these people, “changed the truth of God into a lie” where we read:

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped
and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

The verse begins, “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, ...” Paul began with the word, “who” or “all these people” “changed” or “exchanged” “the truth” which means “what is true in any matter under consideration, in reality, fact and certainty” “of God” which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “into a lie” which means “a conscious and intentional falsehood, perverse, impious and deceitful precepts”. The people who rejected God “exchanged” God's “reality and facts” into “falsehoods”.

The verse goes on to say, “... and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” Paul continued with the words, “and worshiped” which means “honored religiously feared and adored” “and served” or “ministered to, performed sacred services to, offered gifts to, and worshiped in the observance of the rites instituted for worship” “the creature” which means “the building, creation, institution and ordinance” “more than” or “beside and in contrary to” “the Creator” which refers to “God who created, formed, shaped, completely changed or transformed the world”, “who is blessed” which means “who is adorable and praised” “for ever” or “to the unbroken age, perpetuity of time and eternity”. “Amen” which means “firm, surely, truly and of a truth”. Paul shared how these unbelievers in God “adored and ministered to” “created things” rather than the “Creator” who “formed and fashioned” them.

When we think through these words of Paul, we see how these unbelieving people rejected God and “worshiped and served” things “created” rather than the living God who made them. When people “worship, adore, glorify and exalt” “created things” rather than God, they have misplaced “adoration”, and they praise “temporary” things instead of eternal. Jesus Christ came to show the power and might of God, and His ability to “save” people from their “sins” aligns them with the proper order of “worship and service”. Let all who read these words examine themselves and discover whether they worship the “Creator” or the “created”, and should they find themselves adoring “created things”, let them turn their hearts to Jesus now, turn from their error and know God as the “Creator” of the universe and all that is within it.

Next time Paul tells the church members, “for this cause God gave them up unto vile affections”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then,
