The Wrath of God Revealed Romans 1:18

Paul the apostle told the church members in Rome how, “the righteousness of God” was “revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith”, and in chapter one and verse eighteen of Romans, Paul told with the church members how, “the wrath of God is revealed” where we read:

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness
and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

The verse begins, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men,...” Paul began with the word, “for” or “even as, indeed, no doubt, seeing then, verily and therefore” “the wrath” or “anger, temper, agitation of the soul, impulse, desire, any violent emotion and indignation” “of God” which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “is revealed” which means “uncovered, laid open, disclosed and made bare and manifest” “from heaven” which means “the region above the sidereal heavens, the seat of order of things eternal and consummately perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings” “against all” or “in position at or across from each, every, the whole and everything which exhibits” “ungodliness” which means “want of reverence towards God and impiety” “and unrighteousness” or “and injustice or deeds violating law and justice” “of men” which refers to “human beings whether male or female”. Paul shared how God's “heavenly” “anger and indignation” is “uncovered” “against” every “deed violating” the “law and justice” of God.

The verse continues, “...who hold the truth in unrighteousness;” Paul added the words, “who hold” which means “who detain, retain, restrain and hinder” “the truth” which refers to “that which is true in any matter under consideration” “in unrighteousness” which means “injustice or deeds violating law and justice”. Paul referred to the way “ungodly” people “restrain and hinder” what is “true” by their “deeds” which “violate” God's law and justice.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how God is prepared from “heaven” to expose His “wrath” against “all unrighteousness”. Though God's offer of salvation through His Son Jesus is available to everyone, not all people will receive Him as “Savior and Lord”. Those who “hold God's truth” and continue to participate in “unrighteous deeds” shall be the target of His “indignation”. “Salvation” is available to everyone before this “wrath of God” is poured out, and today is the day to receive Jesus Christ into our lives. May all who read these words take heed and realize the God of the Universe is watching from “heaven”, and His “wrath” shall be “revealed” against “ungodliness”. Let us “repent” and turn from our sins before that ominous day of the Lord shall come.

Next time Paul tells the church members how, “that which may be know of God is manifest”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then,
