Imparting Some Spiritual Gift Romans 1:11

Paul the apostle told the church members in Rome, “God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;”, and he added, “Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey
by the will of God to come unto you.” In chapter one and verse eleven of Romans, Paul shared how he desired to see them so he might, “impart unto you some spiritual gift” where we read:

For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end you may be established;

The verse begins, “For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, ...” Paul began with the word, “for” or “even as, indeed, no doubt, seeing then, verily and therefore” “I long” or “Paul greatly desired” “to see you” which means “to perceive with the eyes and senses, notice, discern and discover the church members”, “that I may impart” or “so Paul might give over and share” “unto you” which means “to the church members” “some spiritual gifts” or “a certain amount of divine graces”. Paul desired to “see” the church members in person because he wanted to “give” them “certain” “divine gifts” from God.

The verse goes on to say, “... to the end you may be established;”. Paul continued with the words, “to the end” which means “toward the finish and complete finality” “you may be established” which refers to “the church members in Rome would be stable, firm, fast, fixed, constant and confirmed”. Paul wanted the “spiritual gifts” he shared with the church members to make them “firm and fixed” in their relationship with God.

When we consider these words of Paul, we see how he desired to be with the church members in Rome. He wanted to “see” and bless them with “spiritual gifts” that would enhance their Christian walk and help them be “firm and fixed” in their faith. Jesus Christ desires for all people to know Him in this manner, and He provides “divine blessings” through His Holy Spirit to all who will receive them. Let us be opened to “receive” all God has for us so we might be firmly “established” in the faith.

Next time Paul tells the church in Rome that he desires to, “be comforted together with you by the mutual faith of you and me”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then,
