Ready to Preach the Gospel in Rome Romans 1:15

Paul the apostle told the church members in Rome he was a, “debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise”, and in chapter one and verse fifteen of Romans, Paul shared with the church members how he was, “ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome” where we read:

So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

The verse begins, “So, as much as in me is, ...” Paul began with the word, “so” or “in this manner and thus”, “as much as” or “down from, through out, according to and toward” “in me is” which means “exists within Paul”. Paul referred to the determination he had within himself to share the “gospel of Jesus Christ”.

The verse continues, “... I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.” Paul added the words, “I am ready” which means “Paul was prepared and willing” “to preach” or “to bring and announce” “the gospel” which refers to “the good news and glad tidings” “to you” or “to the people” “that are in Rome” which means “who live in the city of Rome” “also” or “even and indeed”. Paul was prepared to “bring” the “glad tidings” of God to the people who lived in the city of Rome.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how he was not only prepared to share God's “good news” with the Greeks, Barbarians, wise and unwise, but he was also “ready and willing” to share the “gospel” with all who were in Rome. The “gospel of Jesus Christ” is available to every person, and this was Jesus' purpose for coming to the earth. He died, rose again and now reigns in victory with the Heavenly Father and has made provision for all who receive Him to be saved. May everyone who reads these words hear the “preaching” of the “good news” of God, and turn their lives to Jesus today.

Next time Paul shares with the church members how he is, “not ashamed of the gospel of Christ”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then,

Until tomorrow…there is more…
