No Death Till the Kingdom is Seen - Mark 9:1

Mark wrote how Jesus said, “Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels, and in chapter nine and verse one of his book, Mark shared how Jesus said how some of His disciples, “shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God” where we read:

And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here,

which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

The verse reads,And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, ...Mark began with the words, “and he said” which means “and Jesus uttered, declared and proclaimed” “unto them” or “to the people and His disciples”, “verily” which means “truly and surely” “I say unto you” or “Jesus utters, declares and proclaims to His disciples”, “that there be some of them” which means “there are some of the disciples” “that stand here” or “who are placed, put, set and established in the place Jesus was”. Mark shared how Jesus referred to a few of His “disciples” who were standing there with Him.

The verse goes on to say, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.” Mark continued with the words, “which shall not taste of death” which means “who will not partake of, feel, or experience the death of the body where there is a separation whether naturally or violently of the soul and the body by which the life on earth is ended”, “till they have seen” or “until some of the ones with Jesus have observed, perceived, noticed and discerned” “the kingdom” which means “the reign, rule and dominion” “of God” or “belonging to God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “come with power” which means “arrives and appears with strength, ability and moral excellence”. Mark shared how Jesus declared that some people among the crowd would not die until they have “observed” God's Kingdom with excellence and moral “power”.

When we meditate upon Mark's words in this verse, we see how Jesus proclaimed that some of His disciples would not die until they saw God's Kingdom. God will allow all who “believe and trust” in His Son Jesus as their “Savior and Lord” to enter into His Kingdom some day, but some of His disciples were to have a preview of things to come. God loves people, and He wants everyone to be in a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus. Those who are wise will yield their lives to Him and prepare for one of the greatest sights they have ever seen.

Next time Mark shares, “after six days Jesus took with him Peter, and James, and John, and lead them up into an high mountain”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
