In Psalms chapter forty one David said, “Blessed is he that considers the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and you will not deliver him unto the will of his enemies”, and in chapter forty one and verse three of Psalms David said, “The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing” where we read,
The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: you will make all his bed in his sickness.
The verse begins, “The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing:” David began with the words, “The LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God” “will strengthen him” which means “shall support, sustain, uphold, strengthen and comfort the person who considers the poor” “upon the bed of languishing” or “on the divan or couch with a canopy of illness, sickness, loathing and sorrow”. David said Jehovah God would support and sustain him while he lie upon a couch of sorrow and loathing.
The verse continues, “you will make all his bed in his sickness.” David added the words, “you will make all his bed” or “you, Jehovah God, will change, transform, reverse and upturn the whole and totality of his, the person who considers the poor's, divan or couch with a canopy” “in his sickness” which means “within the person who considers the poor's malady, anxiety, calamity and grief”. David said Jehovah God would change and transform the anxiety and grief of the person who considers the poor.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through David about another blessing Jehovah God gives to people who consider the poor and lowly. David said God would “sustain and support” them when they encounter sorrowful times, and He will transform their “anxiety and grief” when they experience troubles and calamity. God loves people, and He is for them. He sent His Son to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when we submit ourselves to Him, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life. Then He will be with them and comfort them in difficulties and rescue them in times of illness, calamity, anxiety and grief. Let us give praise and glory to Jehovah God for His provision for us, and may we rely upon Him to “strengthen” us when afflictions arise.
Next time David says, “LORD, be merciful to me”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
