In Psalms chapter forty five David said, “Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear; forget also your own people, and your father's house. So shall the king greatly desire your beauty: for he is your Lord; and worship you him”, and in chapter forty five and verse twelve of Psalms David said, “the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift” where we read,
And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift;
even the rich among the people shall entreat your favor.
The verse begins, “And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift;” David began with the words, “and the daughter” or “and the female offspring, progeny and princess” “of Tyre” which means “belonging to Tyre which means a rock and was a Phoenician city on the Mediterranean coast” “shall be there” or “will exist in that place and location” “with a gift” which means “having and possessing a tribute, offering, oblation, sacrifice and present”. David said the princess who belongs to the Phoenician city of “Tyre” would appear with a present.
The verse continues, “even the rich among the people shall entreat your favor.” David added the words, “even the rich” or “indeed and also the wealthy and noble” “among the people” which means “who dwell with human beings both male and female” “shall entreat your favor” or “will beg, pray and plead for your, the royal king's, front, face and presence”. David said that wealthy people would beg for the countenance of the “royal king”.
When we consider the words in this verse, we see through David how foreigners and wealthy people would seek the “favor” of the “royal king”. The “daughter or princess of Tyre” would arrive at the wedding with a present, and the wealthy people who lived among the people would longingly desire to have the “royal king's” blessing, presence and face. God's desire is to have a personal relationship with everyone in the world, and He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind so they would not be separated from Him. When we submit our lives to Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and make us to be His “bride”, and even so all the world shall one day bow to Him and declare Him Lord regardless of whether they yielded to Him on earth or not. (See Romans 14:11)
Next time David says, “the king's daughter is all glorious within”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
