In the book of Daniel, Daniel shared how King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, and Daniel said, “This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king. That they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will. And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; your kingdom shall be sure unto you, after that you shall have known that the heavens do rule. Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of your tranquillity”, and in chapter four and verse twenty-eight of his book Daniel said, “all this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar” where we read,
All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.
The verse reads, “All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.” Daniel began with the words, “all this” or “each, every, the whole and everything mentioned” “came upon the king” which means “arose and was extended to the royal ruler and leader” “Nebuchadnezzar” whose name means “may Nebo protect the crown and was the great king of Babylon who captured Jerusalem and carried Judah captive”. Daniel shared how everything that he told “King Nebuchadnezzar” that would happen to him occurred.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through Daniel how his rendering of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream was fulfilled in keeping with what Daniel told him. God keeps his word, and He is in control of every leader and ruler in the world. He wants to be the ruling authority of our lives, and when we surrender to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind and was raised from the dead after three days, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us the wisdom of His Holy Spirit to know that He declares His words and keeps them.
Next time Daniel begins to share what happened, “at the end of twelve months”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
