How Great are God's Signs - Daniel 4:3

In the book of Daniel, Daniel shared these words, “Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you. I thought it good to show the signs and wonders that the high God has wrought toward me”, and in chapter four and verse three of his book Daniel shared how King Nebuchadnezzar said, “How great are his signs!” where we read,

How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,

and his dominion is from generation to generation.

The verse reads, “How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,  ... Daniel began with the words, “How great are his signs” or “O what domineering and extraordinary portents”! “and how mighty” which means “and what power and strength” “are his wonders” or “exists his, the Supreme Deity’s, miracles”! “his kingdom” which means “his, the Supreme Deity’s, reign and rule” “is an everlasting kingdom” or “exists as an eternal, forever and perpetual rule and reign”. Daniel shared how King Nebuchadnezzar declared the greatness of the Supreme Deity’s portents, and what power exists within the Supreme Deity’s miracles. He also declared that God’s reign is eternal and forever.

The verse goes on to say, “... and his dominion is from generation to generation.Daniel continued with the words, “and his dominion” which means “and his, the Supreme Deity’s, sovereignty and realm” “is from generation to generation” or “exists age to age”. Daniel shared how King Nebuchadnezzar also acknowledged the sovereignty of the Supreme Deity’s realm which continues from age to age.

When we consider Daniel’s words in this verse, we see how King Nebuchadnezzar made declarations to the people and nations of the world concerning the abundant portents and powerful miracles which are performed by the Supreme Deity Jehovah God. He proclaimed that God’s reign and rule is eternal, and it continues from age to age. These are similar to the words declared by a believer in God, and because of what King Nebuchadnezzar experienced, He was making wonderful proclamations concerning God. God wants us to experience Him through His Son Jesus who came into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and when He raised Him from the dead, He made the way through belief and trust in Him to be forgiven of our sins, granted everlasting life and given a witness through His Holy Spirit which will declare to the world the goodness and greatness of our eternal God.

Next time King Nebuchadnezzar says, “I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in my house”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
