In the book of Daniel, Daniel shared these words, “Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you”, and in chapter four and verse two of his book Daniel shared how King Nebuchadnezzar said, “I thought it good to show the signs and wonders” where we read,
I thought it good to show the signs and wonders that the high God has wrought toward me.
The verse reads, “I thought it good to show the signs and wonders ...” Daniel began with the words, “I thought it good” or “I, King Nebuchadnezzar, considered the following to be acceptable, pleasing and beautiful” “to show the signs” which means “to inform, explain, declare and tell the miraculous portents” “and wonders” or “and astonishing works” according to the following. Daniel shared how King Nebuchadnezzar considered it acceptable and pleasing to declare the miracles and astonishing works which were in keeping with the following.
The verse continues, “... that the high God has wrought toward me.” Daniel added the words, “that the high God” which means “that the Supreme Deity” “has wrought toward me” or “has made, performed and executed with me, Nebuchadnezzar”. Daniel shared how King Nebuchadnezzar desired to declare the miracles and astonishing works that the Supreme God Jehovah executed with him.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through Daniel how King Nebuchadnezzar desired to share and bear witness with the people of the world about the miracles and astonishing works that the Supreme Deity performed with him. In other words, he was giving testimony to the powerful acts of God. God wants us to be this way. When we receive His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind and was raised from the dead as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us the power to be His witnesses through His Holy Spirit to everyone about the wonder working miracles of God.
Next time King Nebuchadnezzar declares, “How great are his signs!”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
