Come and See Revelation 6:1

Worship broke out in heaven as John the apostle saw the “Lamb” of God take the “scroll” which was in God's right hand, , and in chapter six and verse one of Revelation, John began to see the tribulation period upon the earth as he saw “when the Lamb opened one of the seals” and he heard “one of the four beasts saying, Come and see” where we read:

And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard,
as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

The verse reads, And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, ...John began with the word, “and I saw” which means “John perceived, noticed, discerned and observed” “when” which means “at the time and moment” “the Lamb” or “the little sheep or lamb” which was Jesus “opened” which means “unfastened and loosened” “one of the seals” or “a certain one of the signet seals”. John watched as Jesus “unfastened the first of the “signet seals” which were upon the “scroll” he took from God's right hand.

The verse goes on to say, “... and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.” John added the words, “and I heard” which means “and John was endowed with the faculty of hearing, was attentive to, considered and understood”, “as it were the noise” or “like the tone, voice, speech, language, tongue and sound” “of thunder” or “like the thunder in the skies”, “one of the four beasts” which means “a certain one of the four living beings that surrounded God's throne”; “saying” or “uttering, declaring and proclaiming”, “come” which means “make appearance, arise, show yourself and be established” “and see” or “perceive, notice, discern, discover and observe”. After seeing Jesus loose the “first seal” from the “scroll”, John heard a thunderous voice of one of the “four living beings” invite him to “come” and “behold” what he going to show him.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we notice how Jesus opened the first seal to the “book” or “title deed to the earth”. Immediately he saw one of the “four beasts” or “cherubim” which were around God's throne invite him in a “loud voice” to “see” what was about to happen. God has a plan for the earth that was to unfold “seal by seal” as Jesus unfastened the “scroll”, and He has a plan for the salvation of man through His Son Jesus Christ. People who receive Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” shall avoid this tribulation period, however, those who are “unbelievers” in Jesus should pay particular attention and “come and see” what is going to unfold.

Next time John shares how he “saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
