Every Creature Worships Jesus Revelation 5:13

John the apostle saw the “Lamb” of God take the “scroll” which was in God's right hand, and when he did, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odors, which are the prayers of saints, and they sung a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for you were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And have made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” John added, “And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.”. In chapter five and verse thirteen of Revelation John shared how the “every creature” worshipped Jesus where we read:

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto him that sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

The verse reads, And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, ...John began with the words, “and every creature” which means “each, every, the whole and every one of the created things” “which is in heaven” which refers to “that are located in the region above the sidereal heavens which is the seat of order of things eternal and consummately perfect where God dwells and other heavenly beings ”, “and on the earth” or “upon the arable land, country, territory and region”, “and under the earth” which means “beneath the arable land, country, territory and region” “such as are in the sea” or “that are within the large body of water known as the sea”, “and all” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone” “that are in them” or “that are in heaven, one the earth, under the earth and in the sea”, “heard I saying” which means “John perceived, notice, discerned and discovered the creatures declaring, uttering and proclaiming” . John “listened to” all of creation making a proclamation toward God.

The verse goes on to say, “... blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto him that sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.John added the word, “blessing” which means “praise, laudation and benefit”, “and honor” which refers to “deference, reverence and value”, “and power” or “strength, ability and influence”, “be unto him” which refers to “toward God”; “that sits upon the throne” or “who is seated, occupies, is fixed and dwells on the chair of state which has a footstool and hence power belonging to Christ”, “and unto the Lamb” which refers to “and toward the little sheep or lamb” “for ever” or “toward the unbroken age, perpetuity of time and eternity” and “ever” which means “to the unbroken age, perpetuity of time and eternity”. John “heard” all of creation declare the worthiness of God and His sacrificial “Lamb” Jesus to receive “blessing, honor, glory and power” for all of eternity.

When we consider John's words in this verse, we should imagine all of creation joining in this wonderful worship time toward God and His Son Jesus. Jesus deserves to be magnified and glorified for His paying the price of death on the cross for the sins of the world, and one day every created thing shall join in praise of Him. God Almighty desires a relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and today is the day to receive Him as a personal “Savior and Lord”. As Isaiah the prophet declared in chapter forty-five and verse twenty-three, I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear”. Let all of creation praise the Lord!

Next time John shares how “the four beasts said, Amen”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
