The Timing of the Four Angels in Euphrates Revelation 9:15

As John the apostle continued to share about the “tribulation” that was to come upon the earth, he shared concerning the first six seals Jesus removed from the “scroll” in God's right hand. He wrote about what happened when Jesus, “had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets … And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound. The first, second, third, fourth and fifth angels” blew their trumpets, and great judgment fell upon the earth. John continued, “And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates”, and in chapter nine and verse fifteen John shared how “the four angels were loosed...for an hour, day, month and year...to slay” where we read:

And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day,
and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
The verse reads, And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day,
and a month, and a year, ... John began with the words, “and the four angels” which refers to “and the four messengers, envoys and ones sent” “were loosed” or “were freed and released from the river Euphrates”, “which were prepared” which means “who were made ready” “for an hour” or “unto and towards a certain, particular and definite time” “and a day” which refers to “a certain, particular and definite interval between sunrise and sunset” “and a month” or “a certain, particular and definite time of the new moon”, “and a year” which means “a certain, particular and definite annual period of time”. John saw how the “four angels” had a particular and specific time when they were “loosed from the river Euphrates”..

The verse continues, “... for to slay the third part of men. John added the word, “for to” which means “so that or in order to” “slay” or “kill in whatever way, destroy, extinguish and abolish by inflicting mortal death” “the third part” which means “one third” “of men” or “of the people living whether male or female”. These “four angels” were “freed” on a particular and specific day to “kill” one third of all the people living at this time.

When we consider John's words in this verse, we recognize the mass killings of these “four angels”. One third of the people who are living during this time shall be extinguished. The number of people could be in the “billions” depending on the earth's population after the previous judgments from God during this “tribulation” time on the earth, and we can only imagine how horrific this scene would be. God Almighty desires to save people from this time through a relationship with His Son Jesus, however people who reject Jesus Christ as their personal “Savior and Lord” shall experience these things. May all who read these words understand the gravity of this awful time and repent before it is too late.

Next time John shares about an army with, “two hundred thousand thousand” “horsemen”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
