The Lamb Feeds, Leads and Tears are Wiped Away Revelation 7:17

After the worship scene in heaven where “the Lamb” of God received the “scroll” in God's right hand, the beginning of the tribulation to come upon the earth began and John the apostle saw the first, second, third, fourth, fifth and the sixth seals were opened and great troubles came upon the earth with each of them. He wrote, After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands, and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb, and all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped God, Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and from where did they come? And I said unto him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sits on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.” In chapter seven and verse seventeen John saw “the lamb...shall feed them...lead them...and wipe away all tears” where we read:

For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

The verse reads, For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters:John began with the word, “for” which means “because and since” “the Lamb” which means “” “which is in the midst” or “who is in the center-point and middle” “of the throne” which means “of the chair of state having a footstool which was assigned to kings and therefore showing kingly power or royalty“shall feed them” or “will rule, govern, furnish pasture for food, nourish, cherish and serve the multitude clothed in white robes, “and shall lead them” which means “and will be a guide or teacher to the multitude clothed in white robes” “unto living fountains” or “toward the active, blessed, full of vigor, fresh, strong, efficient, powerful and efficacious springs or wells” “of waters” which refers to “waves of the sea”. The “elder” shared how Jesus shall “feed” and “lead” this massive multitude toward “active, fresh and efficacious” springs of water or refreshing.

The verse continues, “and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” John added the words, “and God” which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “shall wipe away” which means “will anoint, obliterate, erase and blot out” “all tears” or “each, every, the whole and everyone of the tears” “from their eyes” which means “separate and apart from the multitude dressed in white robes' eyes”. The “elder” also promised that God would “obliterate and blot out” all the “tears” from this multitude's eyes.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we see more benefits and blessings given to this “massive multitude” who were “dressed in white robes” and “came out of great tribulation”. Jesus will nourish them, lead them and erase all the “tears” from their eyes. “Hunger”, “thirst” and “sorrow” are part of this life, and all these shall be satisfied by Jesus Christ. God desires to have a relationship with people through His Son Jesus, and He wants to provide, protect, comfort and guide all who follow after Him. Jesus said, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” (Mark 16:24), and all who are wise shall receive Him as “Savior and Lord” and enjoy His blessing for time evermore.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see John share how, “there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour “, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
