Hurt Not Till the Servants of God are Sealed Revelation 7:3

After the worship scene in heaven where “the Lamb” of God received the “scroll” in God's right hand, the beginning of the tribulation to come upon the earth began, and John the apostle saw the first, second, third, fourth, fifth and the sixth seal opened. He shared how men responded to the cataclysmic events upon the earth, and he continued, “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea.” In chapter seven and verse three of Revelation John heard the “angel” “saying hurt not … till we have sealed the servants of our God” where we read:

Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees,
till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

The verse reads, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, ...John began with the word, “saying” which means “uttering, declaring and proclaiming” “hurt not” which means “do not wrong, damage or harm” “the earth” or “the arable land, country, territory or region”, “neither the sea” which refers to “do not wrong, damage or harm the large bodies of water”, “nor the trees” or “do not wrong, damage or harm the “trees such as oaks and others”. John heard the “loud voice” of the next “angel” instruct the “four angels” who were “holding the winds” upon the “four corners of the earth”.

The verse continues, “... till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.” John added the word, “till” which means “until or unto the time” “we have sealed” or “the angels had marked upon by the impress of a seal or stamp” “the servants” which refers to “bondmen, attendants or men of servile condition” “of our God” or “pertaining to the angel's Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “in their foreheads” which means “upon the space between the eyes and forefront of the head”. The “angel” prohibited the “four angels” from harming the “earth, sea and trees” until such time as they had “placed a seal” upon the “foreheads” of those who were “servants” of God.

When we consider John's words in this verse, we see how destruction was planned but limited until such time as the “servants of God” were protected by God's “seal” upon their “foreheads”. God desires to “save” people, not destroy them. Only those who reject God's offer of His Son Jesus shall endure the destruction planned for the earth. All of His “servants” upon the earth during the “tribulation” shall be “seal” with His protective “signet seal”, and those who receive Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” are “sealed” with His Holy Spirit and shall not endure the time of “tribulation” upon the earth. May all who read these words accept Jesus today and be “sealed” with God's way of escape for the destruction to come.

Next time we John sees how, there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
