Finding as Jesus Said - Mark 14:16

Mark wrote, “And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where will you that we go and prepare that you may eat the passover? And he sent forth two of his disciples, and said unto them, Go you into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. And wheresoever he shall go in, say you to the goodman of the house, The Master said, Where is the guest-chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us”, and in chapter fourteen and verse sixteen of his book, Mark shared how Jesus' two disciples, went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto themwhere we read:

And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them:

and they made ready the passover.

The verse reads, “And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them:” Mark began with the words, “and his disciples” which means “and Jesus' two students, pupils and attendants” “went forth” which means “departed and left”, “and came into the city” or “and arose, entered and appeared in the town”, “and found” which means “and discovered” “as he had said unto them” or “in the same manner and likeness that Jesus uttered, declared and proclaimed”. Mark shared how the “two disciples” left Jesus and His other disciples, entered the “city” and “discovered” the man “bearing the pitcher of water” who lead them to the “upper room” just like Jesus said.

The verse goes on to say, “and they made ready the passover Mark continued with the words, “and they made ready” which means “and the two disciples of Jesus prepared” “the passover” or “the paschal sacrificial lamb and unleavened bread”. Mark shared how Jesus' “two disciples” prepared everything they needed to observe the “passover” with Jesus and His other disciples.

When we think through Mark's words in this verse, we see how the “two disciples” of Jesus obeyed His charge to go into the city and find the man bearing the pitcher of water”. When the man lead them to the “upper room”, they prepared the “passover meal”. Though it may surprise some, the “two disciples” found everything just as Jesus said it would be which is another indicator that He is who He claimed to be – the Christ and Messiah of God. Those who are wise will realize every step of Jesus' plan was for “saving” people, and those who will believe and trust in Him will receive everlasting life with His Father God.

Next time Mark shares “in the evening he came with the twelve”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
