Jesus Coming in the Clouds - Mark 13:26

Mark wrote how Jesus concerning the end of the age and said, in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he has chosen, he has shortened the days. And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not. For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. But take you heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light. And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken”, and in chapter thirteen and verse twenty-six of his book, Mark shared how Jesus said, “then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory” where we read:

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

The verse reads, “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds ...” Mark began with the words, “and then” or “and at that time” “shall they see” which means “will people both male and female observe, notice and discern” “the Son of man” or “God's Son Jesus” “coming in the clouds” which means “showing Himself, appearing and within the clouds in the sky”. Mark shared how Jesus said people will “observe” Him “coming in the clouds”.

The verse goes on to say, “... with great power and glory. Mark continued with the words, “with great power” which means “with much, large and exceeding strength, ability and excellent force” “and glory” or “and judgment, estimate, honor, praise, splendor and brightness”. Mark shared how Jesus said people would see Him “coming in the clouds” with exceedingly “great ability, praise, honor and splendor”.

When we consider Mark's words in this verse, we see how Jesus prophesied His return to the Earth after this “time of affliction”. People will see Jesus “appearing in the clouds of the sky”, and this time He will come “with great power and glory”. God desires for every person to have a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus, and before He returns to the Earth with “great power and glory”, let all who read these words insure they have yielded their lives to Him.

Next time Mark shares how Jesus says, “then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
