Matthew the apostle wrote how Jesus told His disciples, “This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”, and in chapter twenty-four and verse forty-one of his book, Matthew writes how Jesus shares about, “two women grinding at the mill” where we read:
Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
The verse reads, “Two women shall be grinding at the mill; ” Matthew began with Jesus' words, “two women” which means “two female human beings” “shall be grinding or “will be turning” “at the mill” which means “the hand mills in the mill-houses”. Matthew shared how Jesus referred to “two women” at the “mill-house” “milling corn or wheat”.
The verse continues, “the one shall be taken, and the other left.” Matthew added Jesus' words, “the one” or “the one certain woman” “shall be taken” which means “ will be received and transmitted” “and the other left” or “and the other woman will be left at the mill-house”. Matthew shared how Jesus said one of the women will be “carried away or transmitted” while the other woman will be left “grinding at the mill”.
When we meditate upon Matthew's words in this verse, we discover that one of these women will be “carried away” by God and the other will be left on the earth to endure the “tribulation”. God desires to “rescue” every person who will submit their lives to His Son Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord”, and those who are wise will desire to be “transmitted” from whatever they are doing and escape the terrific horror that will come upon the earth.
Next time Matthew writes how Jesus tells His disciples, “you know not what hour your Lord comes”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
